Methodist Hospital in South Philadelphia is a short-term acute care affiliate of the Jefferson Health System. Jefferson's Methodist Hospital has a long history of providing a high level of community-focused health services.
Within the Jefferson network, Methodist is home to the Rothman Institute’s Shoulder and Elbow Center, the team physicians for the Philadelphia Eagles and The Philadelphia Hand Center. Methodist Hospital dates to 1892, founded by a physician as a hospital and nurses training school. Methodist became affiliated with Jefferson Medical College in 1950 and a division of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in 1996.
