Hackensack University Medical Center

Hackensack University Medical Center, part of the Hackensack University Health Network, is a nonprofit, teaching and research hospital located in Hackensack, NJ. 

Bergen County’s first hospital, Hackensack UMC was founded in 1888 with 12 beds. Today, the center has 775 beds over several major institutions, including the John Theurer Cancer Center, the Heart & Vascular Hospital and the Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital. 

Hackensack University Medical Center is New Jersey’s largest provider of inpatient and outpatient services, serving Northern New Jersey and the New York metro area, and is nationally recognized for health care quality and research. It has been ranked the top hospital in New Jersey by U.S. News & World Report every year since the ratings system was introduced, and is the only hospital in New Jersey, New York and New England to be named one of Healthgrades America's 50 Best Hospitals for nine consecutive years.
