The nonprofit Crozer-Keystone Health System is made up of five Southeast Pennsylvania hospitals: Crozer-Chester Medical Center and Community Hospital in Chester, Delaware County Memorial Hospital in Drexel Hill, Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park, and Springfield Hospital in Springfield.
The health system also operates several outpatient centers and a comprehensive physician network of primary-care and specialty practices, employing a total of 6000 including 1100 physicians. Crozer-Keystone is the largest employer and healthcare provider in Delaware County.
In January 2016, Crozer-Keystone and Prospect Medical Holdings, Inc. announced a definitive agreement for the health system to be acquired by Prospect. Prospect owns and operates 13 hospitals in California, Texas, and Rhode Island. Under the agreement, Crozer-Keystone Health System facilities would keep their current names and jobs would be offered to all Crozer-Keystone employees and management.
